Co-Owner – Hector “H3CZ” Rodriguez

Hector “H3CZ” Rodriguez, who is also known by his stage name, OpTic H3CZ, is the co-owner of OpTic Gaming EnVy. He founded and owns the original team OpTic Gaming and has overseen all of the teams within the Optic Gaming organization. He began his esports career in 2006 and was a member of an international gaming league before becoming an owner in 2007.

As an owner, he has created partnerships with multiple organizations, including Doritos and Red Bulls. He has a passion for gaming which allows him to stay up to date on industry trends and help steer OpTic Gaming as one of the most influential gaming organizations. H3CZ’s leadership has helped present organizational opportunities to players such as playing video games professionally, streaming content, hosting tournaments and creating merchandise products based on their brand.

General Manager – Mike Rufail

Mike Rufail, also known as “Hastro,” is the General Manager of Optic Gaming Envy, based in North America. He has been serving as the team’s GM since January 2020 and has attracted some of the world’s leading players during that brief period. Rufail is responsible for managing day-to-day operations, establishing a culture of discipline and setting high standards for the team. This includes enlisting the right players, using analytics to track performance and defining roles for each member to maximize their efficiency and effectiveness in competition. Rufail has previously served on Optic Gaming’s main roster and in 2017 was rewarded with a MLG Governor’s award for his accomplishments as a professional gamer. He has also provided color commentary at numerous events, including ESL One Belo Horizonte (2018). Since joining Team Envy he has made an impact on both sides of the house by networking top talent around the world, encouraging company growth and showing dedication to continued development in order to build a sustainable team. Co-Founder – Ryan “Fwiz” Wyatt

Ryan “Fwiz” Wyatt is the Co-Founder of Optic Gaming Envy and a professional Call of Duty player, manager and host. After studying media production at Northwestern University, Fwiz joined Major League Gaming (MLG) as Head of Webcasts and Events where he launched MLG’s first ever multi camera live sports webcast. In late 2012 Fwiz left MLG to pursue his own venture, Team Inferno which went on to become the world’s largest private team in history with over a million dollars in earning potential. Fwiz has since created Optic Gaming Envy and is currently managing the new gaming roster along with producing commercial content for high tier corporate sponsors. His diverse skill set spans multiple fields, ranging from management and broadcasting to sales and marketing. He continues to innovate within the world of gaming content creation, pushing boundaries of what can be accomplished through entertainment incubation and talent harnessing – pioneering levels that were never before seen in esports.

Head Coach – James “Clayster” Eubanks

James “Clayster” Eubanks serves as Optic Gaming Envy’s Head Coach. He provides game insight and in-game strategic planning for the team. Clayster is a former professional Call of Duty player that began his competitive career in 2009 and competed in almost all Call of Duty championship tournaments until he retired from competitive play in 2017. As Head Coach, Clayster offers professional guidance, experience, and advice to the players to ensure that they stay at their top performance levels. This veteran also manages day-to-day operations of the team from tournaments practice sessions to travel coordination. His prominent role on the esports scene makes him a treasured asset to Optic Gaming Envy’s roster as he helps provide leadership and direction to the entire squad.

Optic Gaming Envy boasts an impressive roster spread across a variety of roles. At the core of Optic Gaming Envy is the starting lineup consisting of Tim ‘M3lly’ Konings (in-game leader and entry fragger), Noah ‘Four6nine’ Willsey (support), Gordon ‘SMAK’ Dannis (co-support and lurker), Ryan ‘BURNRUOK’ Holley (rifle), Christian ‘Slemmy’ Liddell (AWPer/support). This experienced professional oversees all operations including trade negotiations, scouting new talent, managing sponsorships, overseeing team performance and setting strategies for tournament preparation. He also contributes to team morale by fostering relationships between players through social media interactions and live events. H3CZ also serves as an in-game advisor/mentor, helping to keep everyone motivated while they practice and participate in tournaments. Fwiz works behind the scenes to ensure roadblocks are removed from team management processes, operations run efficiently, direction reflects ownership’s established goals, and events run smoothly for fans. His years-long experience in gaming culture gives him a unique understanding of esports operations as well as what it takes to keep a gaming organization functioning optimally.

Clayster manages the line-up, works on strategies, assists with mental and physical game preparation, as well as monitors everyone’s performance. He also seeks potential new players and develops effective recruitment strategies for current team members. His duties involve devising comprehensive plans for squad objectives, finding solutions or adapting to problems on the fly based on competitor’s plays. During scrimmages or tournaments, he communicates with each individual player through voice chat or in-game chat and offers adjustments when needed. Clayster helps monitor player morale and acts as a mediator between them if there are any issues within the team dynamic. Ultimately, his role is to ensure that all team members are functioning cohesively towards victory in all competitions.
